Hi there! I am a nationally recognized credit card expert with more than a decade of experience in helping Americans make smarter decisions about their money.
My recent experience
I am Senior Industry Analyst at CreditCards.com. In that role, I have appeared on CBS Evening News, The Today Show, CNBC TV, Fox Business Network and have been quoted numerous times by The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today, Bloomberg.com and other top media outlets throughout the nation. I also frequently speak at financial conferences around the country and am a Contributing Writer for USNews.com‘s My Money blog.
Prior to my current role at CreditCards.com, I worked as a journalist. I led online editorial teams for an investing education website, two TV stations, a college sports website and a newspaper. I found my true passion, however, in helping people make smarter decisions about their money.
My passion project
That passion led me to create TalkingInClass.org — a site devoted to improving financial literacy in America’s classrooms. I was inspired to create that site after speaking to my son’s elementary school class about credit. Blown away by wisdom of their questions and their eagerness to learn, I decided to devote myself to getting other money-smart parents to share what they know with kids in their area. I truly believe that can make a difference in financial literacy in America.
Currently, I live in Austin, Texas, with my amazing wife and son. I graduated from the University of Texas with a journalism degree. I geek out about sports, travel, food and Star Wars, but mostly, I’m about spending as much time with my family as I can.
I’m also active on social media — where I post about all of my passions — so click the buttons below to check out what I’m up to:
